![]() After a year of use in U2023, the AI functions are no better than they were when U2023 was first released, because there were not any updates to the algorithms in that time. For very simple images it might be of some use but there are other applications that can do a better job.Īs can be seen from the above comparison screen shots, Select Sky has improved a bit from the U2023 function, but still has some way to go, and that raises a point.ĪI functions like these don't learn on the local PC. ![]() On some images it does quite a good job, on others less so. I have yet to go through other reports I submitted for U2023 to check what the current status is in U2024. Asset management is a primary function of this software and it is disappointing that bugs that limit a primary function are not being attended to in a timely manner. I have again reported it, this time for U2024, and have had confirmation that indeed it still hasn't been attended to. Unfortunately an issue where use of either the Quick Search or the Advanced Search breaks the filter options continues to remain unfixed. I'm don't think I'm personally likely to make a lot of use of these AI keywords, they are too generic for me, but the feature worked ![]() At least that gave me a chance to test removing the AI "Dog" keywords from the database entries for those images (and that worked as it should). I haven't checked all of the AI generated keywords (life is too short) but for example it did keyword all of the photos that had Alpacas in them as "Dogs". Not perfect of course, but then I didn't expect it to be. The identification of objects was surprisingly accurate. ![]() ![]() (c) External Editors - Again a registry copy/paste resolved thatĪs expected the scan of all the images in the collection for AI keywords took a significant time to complete. (b) Export Presets - I had to use the now time honored registry copy/paste to get them across (a) Options - I had to run Tools/Options/General/Import Options. All of my ACDSee metadata made it into the new database.Ī lot of the setup from U2023 seemed to come across automatically. I had no problems with either the download or the installation.Īfter installation, I created a new database at my preferred location, and used Tools/Database/Convert Database to convert my U2023 database into the 2024 database. I've put in a pretty solid 8 hours using the new version. ![]()
